The Collection consists of twelve legal documents (18th-19th century) as listed below:

Vellums

  • Indenture dated 9th February 1718: the marriage articles of William Tew of Mellhussey, Co. Meath, and Hester McManus, daughter of James McManus of Maynooth, Co. Kildare.
  •  Indenture dated 3rd April 1740: between the Right Hon. Richard, Earl of Rosse and the Hon. Richard Parsons, commonly called Lord Oxmantown, only son … of the said … Earl of Rosse of the one part, and Joseph Tarry of Dublin, merchant, of the other part. Sale to J. Tarry of house, garden and yard known as the Blue Belle on the Merchant’s Quay, Dublin.
  • Indenture dated 4th April 1753: between John Leland of the city of London of the one part and John Hobbs of the Co. Dublin of the other part.
  • Lease by John Leland to John Hobbs of dwelling house, etc., in the liberties of Thomas Court and Donore in the county of Dublin.
  •  Indenture dated 4th February 1758: the marriage articles of Mark Tew of Randinstown, Co. Meath, son of the late William Tew, and Elizabeth Leland, spinster, of the city of Dublin, daughter of Ralph Leland, deceased.
  • Indenture dated 4th December 1767: between William Parsons Hoey of Ballydonagh, Co. Dublin, and Bernard Browne of Ballynakill, Queen’s Co. in annexed deed of renewal of the one part and John Leland of the other part. Renewal of lease (there is no separate deed of renewal).
  • 6. Indenture dated 28th October 1778: between William Parsons Hoey and Bernard Browne in annexed deed of renewal of the one part and John Leland of the other part.
  • Renewal of lease (there is no separate deed of renewal).
  • 7. Indenture dated 5th April 1790: between William Parsons Hoey of Hoeyfield, Co. Wicklow and Bernard Browne of Queen’s Co. of the one part and Major General John Leland of the other part.
    Renewal of lease (there is no separate deed of renewal).
  • Will of Patrick Quin of Kilcock, Co. Kildare, 10th April 1794.
  •  Indenture dated 25th August 1809: between Bernard Browne in annexed deed of renewal and George Browne Hoey of the one part and William Tew of Knockmatulla, Co. Meath and Charlotte Litton of Holles St., Dublin widow, of the other part.
    Renewal of lease (there is no separate deed of renewal).

Paper Documents

  •  Copy of will dated 23rd March 1743 of Ralph Leland of the city of Dublin, merchant.
  • Indenture dated August 1852: between William Henry Carter of Castlemartyr in the Co. Kildare of the one part and Mark Leland Tew of Robertstown, Co. Meath of the other part.
  • Draft lease, Wm. Hy Carter to M.L. Tew of lands of Robertstown and Johnstown, Co. Meath, lately held by Mr. Ryall and Mr. Kennedy, and of lands held by Thos. Farquhar in Ratoath, Co. Meath at a yearly rent of £200.
  • Map of part of the estate of William Henry Carter, Esq. situate in the Barony of Ratoath, Co. Meath, Robertstown and Johnstown.
