Archaeology Grants and Awards

 

The Academy Committee for Archaeology is the representative body of the main institutions involved in archaeology in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The primary mission of the committee is to promote and support study and research in Irish archaeology primarily through its role in adjudicating on applications for Government-funded research excavation grants and for Academy archaeological research grants. In pursuit of its mission, the committee is involved in awarding the following grants and awards:

Archaeology Research Funding 2012

Applications are invited for grants for research in Irish archaeology, excluding excavation, in 2012. The closing date for the receipt of applications is Wednesday 25 April 2012. Please note that applications for greater than €2,000 will not be considered.

Radiocarbon Dates Offer 2012

 The Royal Irish Academy in association with Queen's University, Belfast is offering ten radiocarbon dates in 2012 to be used for the purposes of archaeological research in Ireland. The offer is intended to assist research projects only and is not open to any that are developer funded. The closing date for the receipt of applications is Wednesday 25 April 2012
