Welcome to the Royal Irish Academy Library, one of Ireland’s premier research libraries. The Library manages major manuscript, book, pamphlet and drawings collections. We offer comprehensive access and outreach programmes, facilitate master classes and visits, hold exhibitions and lecture series and publish on the collections. Content is added to our web pages on a regular basis and we invite your comments and enquiries.

Manuscript call-up times: 10.10am, 11am, 12 noon, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm.

Our main exhibition on the Battle of Clontarf will be closed from 3pm Tuesday 15 April and all day Thursday 17 April. The Library will be open as normal.

The Library will be closed for Easter from Friday 18 April to Tuesday 22 April 2014 (both dates inclusive). 

Annual Closing 2014: The Library will be closed for annual cleaning and stock-checking from Monday 2 June to Friday 13 June 2014 inclusive.
