Authored by committee members of the Ethical, Political, Legal and Philosophical Studies Committee in response to the NCCA's call.

The NCCA sought responses to its Draft Junior Cycle Philosophy Short Course.  In the Academy's response document, amongst the key points made for strengthening the course is for the inclusion of female philosophers, non-Western philosophers and additional contemporary philosophers in the curriculum. Broadening of the curriculum to include a mandatory strand on Moral Philosophy is also recommended.  Clear assessment guidelines for the measurement of Classroom Based Assessments are called for in this report.
