Academy Election

Professor Thomas Brazil, currently Head of Electronic Engineering at UCD, was elected as Secretary of the Academy on Monday 16th March. He has had a wide range of experience at many levels in the university, including significant administrative and policy-making roles. He was elected a member of the Royal Irish Academy in 2004 and has been a member of Council since 2007. He is a member of the Engineering Sciences Committee of the Academy, Chairman of the RIA Committee for Communications and Radio Science and the national representative for URSI (Union Radio Scientifique Internationale).
