Description

Section C of the Proceedings publishes original research papers primarily in the fields of archaeology and history, although submissions in Celtic studies, linguistics and literature will also be considered. Papers should focus on Ireland or have a strong Irish relevance; submissions without an obvious Irish relevance may be considered at the editors’ discretion, and authors should approach the editors before making such submissions. Scholarly editions of short historical documents of Irish origin or interest are also published.

Notes to Contributors

Domestic Life in Ireland: Thematic Volume

We are pleased to announce that the first thematic volume in the history of the Proceedings of the Royal Irish Academy, Section C will go into production at the end of this year. The theme for this inaugural volume, for which all articles have now been commissioned, is Domestic Life in Ireland. It is scheduled for publication as a special supplement to volume 110, 2010 of PRIA Section C

For further details of the house style for this volume, contributors should download the instructions to authors in the attached pdf

Reports on Archaeological Excavations/Surveys

Authors are requested to format their reports on archaeological excavations or archaeological surveys submitted for publication so that they are more accessible to academics from other disciplines.
For further details view the attached pdf

Ancillary Material

Authors are encouraged to include ancillary material (for example lengthy reference tables, notes, illustrations, etc.) that would add to the paper but is not essential with their submission.
