The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Aisling Murray

Dr Aisling Murray works in the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI). She is currently the Research Officer for Growing Up in Ireland, the national longitudinal study of children and youth.  Aisling is a psychologist with a PhD and a BA in Psychology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics (all from Trinity College Dublin).  As well as maintaining her research interest in cognitive development, Aisling has experience in working on a wide range of issues relating to child and youth development, research methods and ethics.  She has been on the RIA Social Sciences Committee since 2014, and the Secretary since 2016. Aisling is also the Policy Group Co-ordinator for the Society of Longitudinal and Lifecourse Studies.
