The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Anding Zhu

Anding Zhu received the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from University College Dublin (UCD), Dublin, Ireland, in 2004. He is currently a Professor with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Head of RF & Microwave Research Group at UCD. His research focuses on developing digitally-linearized energy-efficient radio frequency and millimetre-wave wireless transmitter front-end circuits and systems for future wireless communications. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers and received research funding from various sources including awards from Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), European Space Agency (ESA), Enterprise Ireland (EI) and industry donations.

Prof. Zhu is an IEEE Fellow. He served as the Secretary of Administrative Committee (AdCom) of IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S) in 2018 and is an Elected Member of MTT-S AdCom since 2019. Prof. Zhu was a recipient of 2021 IEEE MTT-S Microwave Prize. He is currently a Track Editor of IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques and has been a Member of IEEE Future Directions Committee since 2020.
