The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Institute of Art Design and Technology

Andrew is Vice President of Equality and Diversity, and Registrar at the Institute of Art Design and technology (IADT) and serves on a number of boards including The National Museum of Ireland and the Classification of Films Appeal Board. Andrew is a writer and active researcher in the area of technology and society having authored or co-authored six books, eight book chapters, and numerous articles.

Originally qualified as an Engineer, Andrew has completed further postgraduate studies in Music, Business, Art History, and holds a Doctorate in Governance from the School of Law in Queens University Belfast.
