Stat., PG.Dip Ed.) was awarded a gold medal from Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and graduated with a first-class honors degree in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering. She completed her Ph.D. in TCD focusing on modelling background air pollution in Ireland. Thereafter she worked as an environmental analyst specialising in emissions and odour control. She was then awarded an EPA post-doctoral fellowship and developed an air-quality forecast model for Ireland. Since 2016 she is a lecturer in the School of Food Science and Environmental Health at Technological University Dublin covering modules on environmental management and protection, the built environment and planning policy and health. Her transdisciplinary research interests include air pollution modelling/monitoring and the use of engaged citizen science to influence human-nature interactions and pro-environmental behaviours. She has secured significant research funding and is the Technological University Dublin lead partner on the H2020 project GOGREEN ROUTES which uses Nature Based solutions to build reciprocal benefits from human-nature interactions (funded under H2020-SC5-2019-20). Other projects include FONTANA (2018-CCRP-MS.53) which involves monitoring and modelling of fungal spores and IMAGE (2021-HE-1052) which is assessing the impact of agricultural emissions on rural and urban air-quality. She is author of numerous EPA reports, peer reviewed academic papers in high impact journals and a publication co-edited with Dr Tadhg MacIntyre entitled Physical Activity in Natural Settings: Green Exercise and Blue Mind. https://orcid.org/my-orcid?orcid=0000-0001-8639-9152 .
