The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Workshop to mark the release of the Academy’s Creativity discussion papers.

You are invited to “Save the Date” to attend the Royal Irish Academy Workshop on Cultural Heritage, Creativity and Education which will celebrate the launch of the Academy’s Culture and Heritage Group’s discussion papers on creativity.

This workshop will include:

  • A speech by Minister for Education and Skills, Mr. Joe McHugh, TD
  • A response to the Minister by Dr Mary Canning, Senior Vice President, Royal Irish Academy
  • A panel discussion on ‘Cultural Heritage, Creativity and Education’ moderated by Prof Mary O’Dowd, the Academy’s Secretary for the Humanities and Social Sciences.
