The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) and Wikimedia Ireland are co-hosting "Exploring Creative Commons Licences" on Tuesday 5 September 2017.

This is the first in a series of collaborative events between the Digital Repository of Ireland and Wikimedia Ireland. In this first event, Wikimedia Ireland Project Coordinator Rebecca O'Neill will present a comprehensive seminar on the use and application of Creative Commons licences and their use in DRI and on Wikimedia, with particular reference to current European copyright law and best practices.

This event will take place in the Royal Irish Academy, Dublin from 10am - 12.30pm. Admission is free but space is limited, so registration is required. Register here.
