Reflecting the Rising: Easter Monday at the Royal Irish Academy

Through a series of seven curated exhibitions, Inspiring Ireland 1916 brings together ‘iconic’ objects from Ireland's national cultural institutions and RTÉ Archives alongside fascinating objects – photos, diaries, medals, ephemera, and more - from private collections, to paint a vivid picture of life in Ireland in 1916. These exhibitions are being published on a rolling basis up to June 2016.

Inspiring Ireland 1916: ‘Reflecting the Rising’ presents a series of short talks by Irish and international historians and digital heritage experts on some of the personalities and objects that make up the first four exhibitions in Inspiring Ireland 1916: 'Women and the Rising', 'Communicating the Rising', 'Rising in the Regions' and 'Leaders of the Rising'. Visitors will also have the opportunity to browse the site with the help of staff from the DRI Inspiring Ireland team.
