The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Fintan Walsh

Insitute of Archaeologists of Ireland

Fintan Walsh is a consultant archaeologist with over 20 years’ experience in the commercial archaeology sector. During this time he has undertaken over 160 licensed excavations, testing exercises and monitoring briefs. He has also project-managed numerous large-scale archaeological excavations and projects throughout Ireland with teams in excess of 70 field archaeologists. Fintan specialises in project management, report and publication production, editing and post-excavation management. He has widely published his work and has presented the results of this work at numerous conferences. Fintan is a full member of the Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland (MIAI) and the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA).
