THE ROYAL IRISH ACADEMY IS IRELAND'S LEADING BODY OF EXPERTS IN THE SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES

The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Calling all winners of the RIA Hamilton Prize

05 July 2022

We want to hear from winners of the RIA Hamilton Prize for Mathematics since 2002

This year marks the 20th year of Royal Irish Academy Hamilton Prizes for Mathematics. Every year mathematics departments in universities across Ireland are invited to nominate their "best" student in their penultimate year of undergraduate mathematical studies for the Hamilton Prize. We awarded the first prizes to nine young mathematicians from nine institutes in 2002. Twenty years later there are now 180 previous prize winners. We would love to hear about how previous winners’ careers have progressed in the intervening years. We would like to share some of the past winners’ stories in the lead up to Hamilton Day this year and as part of the RIA Hamilton Day 2022 celebrations.

Here is a list of the winners since 2002. Are you one of those past RIA Hamilton Prize for Mathematics winners? Do you know one of the winners? Please get in touch or ask them to get in touch with Carol Martin hamilton@ria.ie

The Royal Irish Academy Hamilton Day events are supported by Ibec.
