The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Ulster Folk Museum

I have a background working within the museum sector with experience at local authority museums across NI and ROI. I have worked at National Museums NI for fourteen years and have recently taken up my current post as Curator of Archaeology, having been Curator of Making the Future since 2018. I am a member of the Museums Association and an active participant in its events and those organised by the Irish Museums Association. I am currently completing my Associateship of the Museum Association (AMA), looking at the archaeology collections of National Museums NI. I am also a member of the Ulster Archaeological Society and have had articles published in the Social History Curators Group Journal Social History in Museums, Vol. 44, Spring 2021 and the forthcoming journal from the Irish Museums Association, Museum Ireland, Vol.28, 2021.
