The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Quentin Crowley

Quentin Crowley
B.Sc. (NUI 1993), M.A. (jure officii, TCD 2020), Ph.D. (NUI 1997), FTCD

Dr Crowley is an Associate Professor in Geology and Elected Fellow at Trinity College Dublin (TCD), where he also acts as the current Director of the Trinity Centre for the Environment, and academic lead of EIT Climate-KIC. Dr Crowley is a Funded Investigator in iCRAG and a Fellow of the Geological Society, London.

Dr Crowley has extensive research and teaching experience in a broad range of geological and environmental science related themes. His current research focus is on geoscience and sustainability, where he utilises his broad geological knowledge to innovate on key societal challenges.
