THE ROYAL IRISH ACADEMY IS IRELAND'S LEADING BODY OF EXPERTS IN THE SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES

The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

I completed my undergraduate and Part III in Mathematics in Cambridge and my PhD in Edinburgh. I then had postdoctoral positions in the Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa, Italy), Erwin Schroedinger Institute (Vienna, Austria), Bristol (UK), Glasgow (UK), Jyvaskyla (Finland) and Kiel (Germany), before starting as a permanent lecturer at UCC in January 2014. My research interests are in the field of Harmonic Analysis, specifically the Fourier restriction phenomenon, maximal functions and generalised Radon transforms. Recently, I have been interested in interactions between problems in Harmonic Analysis and Algebraic Geometry (Geometric Invariant Theory).
