THE ROYAL IRISH ACADEMY IS IRELAND'S LEADING BODY OF EXPERTS IN THE SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES

The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

A half-day conference exploring the challenges to inclusivity in research careers and championing some examples of positive change in Ireland and abroad.

This conference, co-organised by the RIA and the HEA, will explore the challenges to inclusivity in research careers and the influence of issues such as research assessment and the challenging economic climate on the diversity of those pursuing and succeeding in careers in research. It will champion examples of positive change in Ireland and abroad, and engage with Vice Presidents for Research, Vice Presidents for EDI and HR leadership, in addition to research leaders such as directors of research institutes.

We are also seeking expressions of interest from organisations that have introduced novel measures to increase and support diverse research career pathways who would like to participate in this event – there will be an opportunity for brief flash presentations.
