The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Eimear Dolan

Young Academy Ireland Member

Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering University of Galway

Eimear Dolan is a Royal Society Science Foundation Ireland University Research Fellow and Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Galway. She is also an Irish Research Council Laureate awardee. She completed her undergraduate and PhD from the University of Galway and has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Trinity College Dublin, Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She established her research group in Galway in 2018 and they are focused on fundamental and translational research in the field of innovative medical implants.
