The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

UN60 Exhibition

At the request of DFAT Michael and Kate researched, wrote and curated an exhibition celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of Ireland joining the United Nations (UN). 

Extensive research of the records of the Permanent Minister to the UN was carried out and project management of the display and design was overseen. The exhibition went on display in Dublin, Cork, New York and Geneva and is available online here:  https://www.dfa.ie/un60/exhibition-irelands-first-years-un/
