The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

DRI Director appointed to NAAC

DRI Director Natalie Harrower has been appointed to the National Archives Advisory Council

The Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Heather Humphreys TD, announced the 12 appointments to the Council on Friday 30 June 2017. Mr Justice John Hedigan has been appointed as Chair. The National Archives Advisory Council was established in January 1987 under Section 20 of the National Archives Act, 1986, to advise the Minister with responsibility for the National Archives on all matters affecting archives and their use by the public. Members of the National Archives Advisory Council are appointed for a period of five years. We are pleased to have DRI represented in such a significant position in the archiving sector in Ireland.
