The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Graham Brownlow

Dr Graham Brownlow, FHEA, FRSA is Senior Lecturer in Economics at Queen’s Management School (QMS). Since March 2021 Graham has been a member of the Northern Ireland Productivity Forum. Since 2012 he has been editor/co-editor of Irish Economic and Social History. Apart from his historical research, Graham has published on contemporary economic topics including tax devolution, industrial strategy, Covid-19 and Brexit. Prior to joining QMS in 2007, Graham previously held full-time academic posts at Dublin City University, University of East Anglia and Auckland University of Technology. He has also worked in Whitehall and pension fund management.
