The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Jane Suiter

DCU

Jane Suiter is Professor in the School of Communications, at Dublin City Univeristy. Her research focus is on the information environment in the public sphere and in particular on scaling up  deliberation and tackling disinformation. 

Jane is director of DCU's  Institute for Future Media, Democracy and Society and is  PI on H2020 ICT28 Provenance, a multimillion interdisciplinary project to combat disinformation.

She is ta member of eh academic advisory board of the Irish Citizens' Assembly and the Irish Constitutional Convention (2012-2014)and a member of the OECD's FutureDemocracy network.
