The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

The Royal Irish Academy is issuing an open call seeking expressions of interest to serve on the Standing Committee for International Affairs (SCIA), for its new four year term commencing January 2019. 

The SCIA is a standing committee within the RIA’s Social Sciences Committee. To express an interest in serving on the SCIA fill in this short form. The SCIA works closely with the Academy’s publication team to produce the Irish Studies in International Affairs journal. In conjunction with this, the committee organises a one-day seminar each year to present papers on a chosen theme for the journal.

Submission deadline Extended

Closing date for submissions now 12 noon on Monday 15 October 2018.
