Archaeology Research Excavation Grants,  Directed Archaeological Research for World Heritage Sites,  Archaeology Radiocarbon Dates Scheme now open for applications

Archaeology Research Excavation Grants

Together with the National Monuments Service the Royal Irish Academy welcomes applications for independent research excavations (new excavations, previously funded excavations and post excavation work) in the Republic of Ireland.

The Archaeology Research Excavation Grants scheme 2019/2020 opened on 3rd September and will close on 14th October 2019.  For further details and to apply click here

Directed Archaeological Research for World Heritage Sites

Together with the National Monuments Service the Royal Irish Academy welcomes applications from those working on the archaeology of the Brú na Bóinne and Sceilig Mhichíl World Heritage Sites to seek funding for non-destructive work.

The Directed Research in World Heritage Sites scheme 2019/2020 opened on 3rd September and will close on 14th October 2019.  For further details and to apply click here

Archaeology Radiocarbon Dates Scheme

The Royal Irish Academy in association with Queen's University Belfast offers radiocarbon dating for up to twelve applicants per annum to be used for the purposes of archaeological research in Ireland. The offer is intended to assist research projects and academics from all levels are welcome to apply to this scheme (undergraduate, post-graduate students, established researchers etc.).
