We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

With sport and games cancelled across Ireland, the Digital Repository of Ireland is asking people to dig out their sporting memorabilia and contribute to Europeana Sport - Ireland’s Stories.

With sport and games cancelled across Ireland, the Digital Repository of Ireland is asking people to dig out their sporting memorabilia and contribute to Europeana Sport - Ireland’s Stories.

DRI is partnering with six other Irish institutions to run online campaigns focusing on specific sports, e.g. camogie, Gaelic football, horse-racing, fishing, martial arts, tag rugby, and rowing. Campaigns will start in late May 2020 and run through the summer.

The campaigns will engage with local communities and enhance local archives, while highlighting the Irish love for sport and competition. If your institution is interested in getting involved please visit here
