The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Lynn Ramsey

Lynn Ramsey is Chair of the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning and a Director of the Higher Education Authority. She holds a PhD in EU law and policy from the University of Glasgow, a Masters of Education in Leadership and Management from Trinity College Dublin and has held academic and leadership positions in universities in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Her research focuses on higher education policy, professional development and student engagement.
She is currently Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at Letterkenny Institute of Technology and Programme Manager for the West/North West Higher Education Cluster.
