
Applications open for the new Nowlan Digitisation Scheme
30 November 2020The scheme aims to expand the range of digitised historical sources available through open and free access to researchers.
The first Nowlan Digitisation Grants scheme opens to applications in the discipline of History on 27 November 2020 and close on 26 January 2021.
The scheme will be competitive, and there is no lower limit on the amount requested but it is anticipated that Grants will be made in the region of €8,000-€10,000.

Keving B Nowlan
Kevin B Nowlan (1921-2013) was a Dublin-born scholar who taught history at University College Dublin, 1948-1986. Professor Nowlan who was elected a Member of the Royal Irish Academy in 1977 and served as Vice-President from 1980-1983 and 1985-1989 left a generous bequest to the Academy which has funded the establishment of the Kevin B Nowlan Digitisation Grant scheme.
