'Meetings with Ivor’ is a 2017 documentary by Alan Gilsenan on the life and work of psychiatrist, Ivor Browne, Medical Superintendent, St Brendan’s Hospital, Grangegorman for three decades from 1966.

Alan Gilsenan’s film, produced by Tomás Hardiman, captures the essence of this extraordinary man. The film contains contributions from a host of familiar faces including Tommy Tiernan, Tom Murphy, Mary Coughlan, Sebastian Barry, Nell McCafferty and Professor Brendan Kelly. The piper, Ronan Browne, son of Ivor, composed the haunting musical score. 

Following this special screening, join us for a recently recorded interview by Alan Gilsenan with Ivor exploring his experiences of Grangegorman during the 30 years that he spent working in the area.
