The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Meeting Room

Designed by Frederick Villiers Clarendon as a library, the space was modelled on the Great Hall at Euston Station, London which was later demolished in 1962, with two tiers of bookcases which were part of the architect’s design. Some of the benches came from the Parliament building after the Irish Parliament was abolished in 1800. Up to 110 people lecture style, equipped with projector with long throw lens and screen, second screen for overhead projector. Podium with microphone, 4 additional wired microphones on platform at front of room. Two roving microphones and lapel microphone available.

The Members Room

A popular room for small launches with podium and sound, it can accommodate up to 60 people for a reception or 30 people lecture style or up to 20 people boardroom style. The Members Room can link to The Council Room when the doors between are opened, in this room are the books of the 19th century poet Thomas Moore. This room can hold up to 20 people boardroom style and is often used for launches/receptions with the Members Room and together they can hold 110.
