Looking back at 'Performing, Promoting and Preserving Ireland’s Intangible Cultural Heritage'

On 19 August, practitioners from three performing arts joined Manchán Magan for a lively evening of performance, exploration, and discussion on the theme of intangible cultural heritage. The event was co-organised by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and the DRI, as a contribution to National Heritage Week 2021. Engaging Communities with Archives by Collaborating with Care

On 7 Sept ember 2021, the DRI and the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) hosted a collaborative webinar exploring participatory projects or archival initiatives that train or support community groups in using video to tell personal stories, bring about social change, or archive and preserve activism and advocacy work. The recording and presentation slides from the DRI-PRONI event ‘Engaging Communities with Archives: Video as a tool for activism, advocacy, and archival work’ can be accessed here

A Reflection on Dublin in the Archives

On 17 September 2021, the DRI hosted ‘Dublin in the Archives: Digital collections exploring the city and county’ as part of the Culture Night 2021 programme of events. The webinar brought together the content creators and curators of digital collections relating to Dublin’s past and present to showcase the diversity of Dublin’s digital cultural heritage.
