Ireland 1922: Women in Independence, Debate and Civil war

Author and Academic Marie Coleman is joined by a panel of three Irish historians to discuss the role and impact of women in Ireland 1922. Diarmaid Ferriter’s new book Between Two Hells: The Irish Civil War (Profile Books) draws on completely new sources to show how the war in 1922 influenced our understanding of modern day Ireland. Hilary Dully, a documentary filmmaker, film teacher and writer, is the editor of On Dangerous Ground (Lilliput Press), the new revolutionary period memoir of Irish Republican Máire Comerford (1893–1982). Coleman’s final panellist is author and lecturer Caoimhe Nic Dháibhéad, who is a contributor to our forthcoming publication Ireland 1922: Independence, Partition and Civil War (January 2022). Join this panel for an afternoon of fascinating discussion on women in independence, debate and civil war.
