The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Daithí Ó Corráin

Daithí Ó Corráin lectures in the School of History and Geography, Dublin City University. He has published widely on Irish Catholicism, including contributions to the Cambridge history of Ireland (Cambridge University Press, 2018) and the Oxford history of British and Irish Catholicism (Oxford University Press, 2022). He is co-author of The dead of the Irish revolution (Yale University Press, 2020), and co-editor of the Four Courts Press The Irish Revolution, 1912–23 series.
