The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Marian Traynor

Marian Traynor is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Queen’s University Belfast. She was recently appointed as Associate Dean of Education within the university for the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences. Prior to this appointment she was Director of Education within the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Queen’s University Belfast.

Her teaching and research is in simulation based education, interprofessional education (IPE) and values based recruitment. She has numerous publications in these areas including chapters in international textbooks.
