Modern Ireland in 100 Artworks: City Drawings by Kathy Prendergast

28 May 2016

A series-in-progress that aimed to create an individual cartographic sketch of every capital city in the world.

This week’s Modern Ireland in 100 Artworks is City Drawings by Kathy Prendergast.

An entry on the artist and her work features in Art and Architecture of Ireland Vol V: Twentieth Century

Yvonne Scott writes in The Irish Times: ‘At the 1995 Venice Biennale, Kathy Prendergast was one of two artists representing Ireland. Her exhibit included forty-nine of her City Drawings. An ambitious project that on completion would comprise almost 200 separate drawings’.
