The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Report published following Constitutional Conversation no. 1 of 6.

A report has been published for this event, which was held on 2 March 2016 in the RIA was the first in a series of six conversations on topics of wide constitutional interest that reflect a variety of current concerns, and some new research agendas. This conversation was focused on the recent changes to the concept of the family in Irish law due to recent constitutional amendments and legislative changes.  Click here to read  a full report from this event.
