2023 Archaeology Research Excavation Grants, Archaeology Legacy Grants and Directed Research for World Heritage Sites decisions02 December 2022
The Royal Irish Academy is delighted to announce funding for six projects under the annual Archaeology Research Excavation Grants, Archaeology Legacy Grants and Directed Research for World Heritage Sites schemes.
The Archaeology Research Excavation Grants funding will enable the excavation of two enclosure sites in Ballyganner North, Co. Clare by Elaine Lynch, The Rock of Lough Key in Co. Roscommon by Thomas Finan and the continuing Castlepook Cave excavations in Co. Cork by Richard Jennings.
Under the Archaeology Legacy Grants scheme funding for the Moynagh Lough project in County Meath by Michael Potterton continues for another year, as well as supporting the completion of outstanding post-excavation work for Lisleagh in County Cork by Michael Monk.
Funding under the Directed Research for World Heritage Sites scheme will also enable Steve Davis to carry out a Large-scale GPR Survey at Brú na Bóinne.
