The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Charlemont Grant scheme open to applications

The Charlemont Grant scheme facilitates early career researchers to make short international visits from Ireland for the conduct of primary research in any subject area.

Applicants are invited to apply for funding of up to €2,500 under this scheme and are required to demonstrate that Academy funds are sought for a clearly defined, discrete piece of research, which will have an identifiable outcome on completion of the Academy-funded component of the project.

This scheme is open until Tuesday, 1 November 2022.
