The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Call for applications for the US-Ireland Research Innovation Awards

Entry to the 2020 US-Ireland Research Innovation Awards has now closed.

The US-Ireland Research Innovation Awards recognise excellence in research innovation, creation, process and invention by an organisation, as a result of US Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Ireland.

Developed in 2015 by the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland and the Royal Irish Academy, these awards recognise and acknowledge exemplary ideas, originating in Irish organisations, and underpinned by innovative research, that have a strong social and/or economic impact.

The US-Ireland Research Innovation Awards are sponsored by KPMG and Ulster Bank with media partner The Irish Times.
