A Christmas Alphabet

H is for Haliday and the pamphlets he supplied
R is for our Readers, whom we always like to see
I is for the Icosian game, a mathematician you need to be
S is for the Library Staff, who always come to readers’ aid
T is for the Treasures, which are everyday displayed
M is for the Manuscripts, in the ancient Irish hand,
A is for the Annals, the history of our land,
S is for the Smell of books, a better scent you wouldn’t get,
Be good and we’ll bring you everything in this Christmas Alphabet!
