Listen back to this two-day conference on one of our major Gaelic medieval manuscripts

The fourteenth-century Book of Uí Mhaine was the subject of a two-day international conference in the Academy Library on 2 – 3 March 2017.  A capacity audience heard papers from twelve speakers on the history and contents of this major medieval Irish manuscript.

The conference was organised jointly by the Department of Early Irish, Maynooth University, and the Royal Irish Academy Library. Most of the podcasts of the presentations are now available. Handouts referred to by the speakers are also available.

Papers presented at the conference will be revised for publication in due course as the third in our series of conference proceedings on significant Irish manuscripts: Codices Hibernenses Eximii.

The first volume of conference proceedings in this series is available: Lebor na hUidre (Codices Hibernenses Eximii 1), edited by Ruarí Ó hUiginn (Dublin: Royal Irish Academy, 2015).

The second volume in the series, on the Book of Ballymote, will be published next year.
