The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest Academic honour in Ireland.

Candidates sought for nomination to the EPA Advisory Committee

At the request of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Academy is preparing a list of suitable candidates for consideration for nomination for a vacancy on the EPA Advisory Committee. 

In the first instance, the Academy would like to invite members to express interest in being nominated to this position. 

If you are interested please submit the following details to policy@ria.ie by COB on the 23 of April 2019:

  1.  A CV
  2.  A paragraph explaining why you are suitable for appointment

The Advisory Committee provides an informed, independent perspective on the EPA’s activities and is a sounding board for new ideas as well as playing a role in making recommendations to the Minister.
