Launch of Impact 2030: Ireland's new research and innovation strategy

20 May 2022

President, Royal Irish Academy welcomes launch of Impact 2030: Ireland's new research and innovation strategy

Commenting on the launch of Impact 2030: Ireland’s research and innovation strategy, by Minister of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris, TD, Dr Mary Canning, President of the Royal Irish Academy said:

“We warmly welcome the publication of Impact 2030 as announced by Minister Harris this morning. The Government’s commitment to placing all research areas on an equal and statutory footing through the creation of a new competitive research and innovation funding agency and to fully realising the impact of research and innovation in the humanities, social sciences and sciences on the economy, society and the environment is particularly encouraging. The establishment of new science advice structures to connect research networks with government priorities and needs for expertise, as proposed by the Royal Irish Academy, will help to maximise the impact of research for the good of society”.
