Origins Of The Irish Constitution

The OIC is a project of the Royal Irish Academy in association with the Office of the Attorney General and the National Archives of Ireland.

The constitution of 1937 represents the culmination of the ‘constitutional revolution’ begun by Eamon de Valera in the 1930s. The Origins of the Irish Constitution project publishes a comprehensive selection of key documents relating to the development and drafting of the constitution. The documents are collected from a variety of archival holdings, covering the period 1929 to 1941.
