The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Pat Goodman

Pat Goodman is an experienced and respected researcher in the areas of Air Pollution and Health and Climate change and Health.  He has authored key publications in these areas of research. He has acted an an expert adviser to the EU, WHO and USEPA. He has been a reviewer for the IPCC.  He is a qualified Meteorologist and Physicist and is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics.  He has previously sat on the RIA Environmental and Climate Change committee.
