THE ROYAL IRISH ACADEMY IS IRELAND'S LEADING BODY OF EXPERTS IN THE SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES

Tim Wilson

Tim Wilson directs the Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV) at St Andrews University. He is the author of both Frontiers of violence: conflict and identity in Ulster and Upper Silesia, 1918–1922 (Oxford University Press, 2010) and Killing strangers: how political violence became modern (Oxford University Press, 2020). As an Englishman writing on Irish history, he pleads the excuse that he finds English history really very dull indeed.
