We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

As part of the Dublin Festival of History and to celebrate the publication of Rathmines, Séamas Ó Maitiú will discuss the development of the Dublin suburb. 

Rathmines by Séamas Ó Maitiú is the second of the Irish Historic Towns Atlas Dublin suburbs series and will be available to purchase in October. To celebrate this new publication, 'Rathmines through time and space: from medieval rath to flatland' will take place online and the link to watch will be circulated to registered attendees in the week of the lecture.
