We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest Academic honour in Ireland.

The Bibliographical Databases

Explore the Bibliographical Databases of the the Historical Dictionary of Modern Irish.

The texts on these databases will be used to choose the words for inclusion in the historical language dictionary. The material listed on the first database is available to search on the CD-ROM “Corpas na Gaeilge 1600-1882”. A database of periodicals (journals, newpapers etc.) from 1882-2000 will be available on line soon.
