About the authors

Edel Bhreathnach

Edel Bhreathnach is a historian of medieval Ireland who has worked extensively on many aspects of the field including the Hill of Tara, the nature of the Irish historical tradition, the Irish Franciscans, Irish monasticism and death and burial in early medieval Ireland. She is the CEO of the Discovery Programme, Dublin and has contributed to the Discovery Programme Reports 2, 5 & 6. Edel Bhreathnach is also the editor of Tara: A select bibliography (1995).
